Dillard's New Years Day Sale... Holy Cow... Not you, Kahn!

Hello Everyone!

 Diddy, here.

The New Year rang in with no major problems for the half pint farm.  The following day however, I was drafted into driving Mum and Pops to the local Dillard's Department store.

With me at the wheel, Mum and Pops braved the New Years Day sale at Dillard's.  I parked a safe distance from one of the store entrances.  The crowds were unbelievable.  Pops had me get him and Mum there only about 10 minutes prior.  From the looks of it, some folks had been there for hours, already.

I can safely say that I've never experienced anything quite like this.  When the manager opened the doors, the crowd of people closest to the doors began to scream and quiver.  You'd have thought we were at a rock concert.  Some others were thinking the same thing and put there hands up in the air and began to wave slowly, as if some slow epic song was being played out on a stage before this motley crew.  One guy even sensing that he might be in the wrong place (not Dillard's) decided to break out his lighter and wave it in the air.   Some people were said to be chanting "I want the deal!," repeatedly...STRANGE.

All this, just for a sale.

Well, I decided to take a few photos of the parking around the store whilst I circled the building like a hungry shark and waited for Mum and Pops to appear, bags in hand, victorious with plenty of plunder to prove it.  I began to notice just how terrible people could or would park when confronted with the possibility of finding a deal at half off clearance price.  So, to honor those folk, I shot a few photos and decided that they would be best shared here on my blog.  Enjoy!

Some folks don't agree with the design of the parking lot and try to redesign on their own.

Utilization of green spaces.

Must have liked the shade.

Just couldn't quite get off the driveway.
good thing it hasn't rained lately

The extended parking lot (out beyond) was full too!

Some folks parked across the street from the mall on the grass.
The person driving the red tub was in such a hurry to get to the sale, that they forgot to pull all the way  into the parking space.

Personalized parking

Creative motorcycle parking

If the row runs out of spaces, just add another!

Double parked at an angle, no less.

Parking stretched all the way down to Sears extra lots.

No need worrying about any trucks unloading today!

Still adding spaces where there are none.

unfortunately, most of the patron-added parking spaces, inhibited traffic movement

... even to the point that large vehicles couldn't pass big cars like this one

Now that's what I call curb parking

Sears car center parking was flooded

Well, another day in the life!

See Ya.

CORGI!
